The Hakama

                A hakama looks like baggy trousers; there are seven pleats in front and two on the back. The hakama was originally worn by Samurai to hide the movement of there feet. It has been retained in Aikido because of its aesthetic beauty it adds to the movement of the Aikdoist. It also gives a heightened sense of movement and a better sense of their center.
